This property has a very special location located on the seafront in the town of L'Escala. It has magnificent views of the Mediterranean to enjoy its essence at any time of the day.
L'Escala begins to appear in written texts from the 16th century onwards as a small fishing and coastal port dependent on the neighbouring town of Empúries. Its use as a port, however, is much more remote. Its name -from the Latin, 'Scala'-, which was very common throughout the Mediterranean area, designates a port or dock, a regular refuge for boats. The dependency of Empúries will be reversed during the 17th and 18th centuries to the benefit of L'Escala. In 1680 the residents of the "port of L'Escala of the town of Empúries" -who already formed a neighbourhood of 80 inhabitants- manage to have their own church, and in 1766 L'Escala becomes a town and head of municipality.
The property is located in a unique and singular environment of nature, tradition and history. L'Empordà and the Costa Brava offer a whole range of possibilities where everyone can find what they want to enjoy a unique holiday.
